A cropped linen jacket cut with a wide flat collar and a zip front that sits clean against the chest. The silhouette is relaxed through the body with elasticated cuffs that keep the shape easy at the wrist.

What takes time is the kantha. Rows of hand-stitched off-white thread run horizontally across the entire jacket, body and sleeves both, varying in rhythm as they go. Some lines sit close, others drift apart. Up close the stitches are uneven in the way handwork is, each one slightly different from the last. From a step back it reads as texture, almost like water moving across the fabric.
